Bandwidth is the amount of data accessed while viewing a website. Every time a user views a site, data is transferred, and the measurement of that transfer is bandwidth. Images, audio and video are higher in bandwidth than text — so a media-heavy website needs more than a simple text-only one. Some hosts offer unlimited bandwidth, and some place a cap on it.
Disk space refers to the total space available to store your files at any time — HTML, images, videos, and more. Your email storage counts toward it too. How much you need depends on the media and interactions you host. Remember: even if you don't need much now, you want room to expand and grow in the future without switching hosts.
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a common protocol used to communicate information securely online. It provides a safe path between two internet-connected machines, and is essential for browsers connecting securely to a web server.
